Brazilian Beat Brooklyn celebrates 4 years

vinylI can't believe it, really, but DJ Greg Caz and Sean Marquand have been bringing the BEST classic samba, samba-rock, and funk (with the occasional forro thrown in for good measure) for FOUR years now. Four whole years in Sunday-night residence at the cozy-yet-sexy Black Betty.

New York magazine declared the party The Best Reason To Go Out On A Sunday. None other than Rede Globo (Brazil's biggest TV network, and 4th biggest in the world) came and filmed us samba dancing.

This coming Sunday, June 12th, come join in the celebration: there will be samba-rock dance lessons (and don't worry if you don't know what samba-rock IS) and samba-rock all night. So it will be heavy on the Jorge Ben. Which is always a good thing.

I expect to see you there.
Black Betty
366 Metropolitan Ave. @ Havemeyer
L train to Lorimer / G train to Metropolitan

Dance lessons start at 9:30pm. Party goes til 4am (at least).
