Quick, name a world-famous Brazilian celebrity

I got an email this morning from a reporter in Brazil:

Hello, Alizinha.

I am a journalist from Brasil and I'm doing a work about Brazilian celebrities around the world.

I have a list of world famous Brazilian artists, but I'm not sure about the precision of that.

I'd like to know if you could help me to build that list in a more accurate way.

So, who are the most famous Brazilian people in USA?

I hope you can help me.

So, people, I'm throwing this out to you--who comes to mind for you when you think of famous Brazilian people? They can be soccer players or models (see photos above), actors, singers, anything.

I already know of way too many Brazilians--Lula, Fernanda Montenegro, Xuxa, and Walter Salles, for example--to be a good judge of this. (And that's not even going in to the musicians I know. That list would be several pages long.)

So, please offer your thoughts in the Comments section, and I'll be sure to post the article (along with a rough translation of it by me) when it's published.
