Choro Ensemble at Zinc Bar Next Week (Aug. 24-26)

I just got word from my friend Pedro Ramos that his always amazing Choro Ensemble (for which he plays cavaquinho and is the musical director) is performing dates next week at Zinc Bar, which is a great venue for Brazilian and jazz music, that I don't visit nearly as often as I should. If you haven't yet heard The Choro Ensemble perform, you might want to check out my friend Michelle Mercer's article about them. Anyway, here's the details for next week's shows at Zinc Bar--if you're thinking of going, let me know in the comments section or by e-mail.

The Choro Ensemble will be performing at the traditional and cozy Zinc Bar the next week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (24th, 25th, 26th of August) as part of the Brazilian month at Zinc Bar.

The repertoire will include original choros by Dom Salvador, Esmeraldino Sales, Anat Cohen, Pedro Ramos as well as classics by Pixinguinha, Jacob do Bandolim, etc.

Please come to support the Brazilian music scene in New York and the eternal choro music. Special guests are also expected.

Sets at 9pm, 11pm and 12:30am
$5 cover
